RBPF Nassau: Car chase and drug arrest - 17 arrests made for various offenses

NORTH EASTERN DIVISION OFFICERS MAKE DRUG ARREST FOLLOWING CAR CHASE

Nassau, Bahamas - An adult male and woman are in custody after they arrested for possession of dangerous drugs on Tuesday 16th September 2914.  According to reports, shortly after 10:30am, officers from the Northeastern Division, acting on intelligence spotted dark blue vehicle occupied by two men in the Kemp Road area. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, however the men on seeing the police sped off and crashed on Strachan’s Alley. The two men threw a large object out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Police gave chase but were unable to catch the two men. Police retrieved the object thrown out of the vehicle and found it to be a large quantity of marijuana. A short while later police arrested a man and woman in connection with this seizure.

9 ARRESTED IN SOUTHEASTERN DIVISION OPERATION

In keeping with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, a team of officers from the Southeastern Division conducted an operation in the division on Tuesday 16th September 2014, that targeted a persons wanted for a number of criminal offences.

The operation resulted in the arrest of five (5) males for Shopbreaking, two (2) males for Housebreaking, one (1) male for Possession of Dangerous Drugs and one (1) female for Threats of Death.

POLICE IN EXUMA ARREST MURDER SUSPECT

According to reports, shortly after 7:00pm on Tuesday 16th September 2014, police in Exuma acting on intelligence, arrested a 35 – year old man of New Providence in Farmers Cay for a recent murder in New Providence.

8 ARRESTED OVERNIGHT BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrests of eight (8) persons overnight for various minor and major offences.


POLICE are appealing to anyone with information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
