RBPF Nassau Crime Report: 6 arrests - Shooting incident on Key West St. - Drug arrest - Immitation firearm arrest

COURT ARRAIGNMENT  

Two (2) Bahamian male pilots and a Canadian man will appear in court on Thursday 10th April, 2014 at 11:00am to face a number of drug related charges. The men were arrested at LPIA earlier this week.  

NORTHEASTERN DIVISION OFFICERS MAKE DRUG ARREST 

A 28 – year old man and a 19 – year old woman are in custody after they were arrested for possession of dangerous drugs. 

According to reports, sometime during the evening of Tuesday 8th April 2014, Officers from the Northeastern Division executed a search of a home located at Whites Addition, where they uncovered a quantity of dangerous drugs packaged for sale on the streets. The man and woman were taken into custody and are facing several drug related charges. 

MAN ARRESTED BY NORTHEASTERN DIVISION OFFICERS FOR IMITATION FIREARM 

A 25 – year old man is in custody after he was arrested for possession of an Imitation Firearm. According to reports, sometime during the evening of Tuesday 8th April 2014, Officers from the Northeastern Division executed a search at a home located at Fowler Street, where they uncovered an imitation handgun. The man was into custody for questioning. 

6 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS  

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities reaped the following results overnight:  

 One (1) arrest for Causing Harm  

Two (2) arrests for Stealing

Three (3) arrests for Outstanding Court Warrants  

Six (6) drivers were cited for various traffic violations 

15 ARRESTED BY SOUTHEASTERN DIVISION OFFICERS 

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Southeastern Division officers conducted an operation in the division on Monday 7th April 2014 that targeted persons suspected of committing various criminal offences.  

The operation resulted in the following arrests: 

One (1) arrest for House Breaking 

One (1) arrest for Possession of Dangerous Drugs 

One (1) arrest for Stealing 

Two (2) arrests for Receiving 

Seven (7) arrests for Causing Harm 

POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S HELP IN SOLVING SHOOTING INCIDENT

 POLICE are requesting the public’s assistance in solving a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday 8th April 2014.  

According to reports, shortly after 12:00noon, a man was walking on Key West Street, when a red lancer car with three men pulled up and shot him in the right thigh before speeding off.  

The victim was taken to hospital where he is detained in stable condition.  

Police are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding any of these incidents, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
