RBPF Nassau: 3 in custody after drug seizure at LPIA

Nassau, Bahamas - Three (3) males ages 46, 19 and 17, all of Pinewood Gardens are in custody following a drug seizure on Friday 4th July 2014.

According to reports, around 8:00am, Drug Enforcement Officers acting on intelligence conducted an operation at the General Aviation Section of LPIA, where they observed the 46 year old suspect, who had just arrived on a charter flight from Andros entered a white maxima vehicle occupied by the other two suspects.

The officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found a carry on bag containing 5 ½ pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $5,000.00.

The three suspects were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court early next week to be formally charged.

POLICE are appealing to anyone with information regarding any crime no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
