RBPF Nassau: DEU make drug arrest - 14 arrests - 2 firearms seized

DEU MAKE DRUG ARREST

Nassau, Bahamas - According to reports, around 4:00pm, on Tuesday 5th May 2015, Drug Enforcement Unit officers acting on intelligence executed a search warrant at a home located at Peter Street, where they uncovered one (1) pound of marijuana. Six (6) adult males were taken into custody for questioning.

MAN WANTED FOR HOUSEBREAKING AMONG 14 ARRESTED DURING TWO SEPARATE POLICE OPERATIONS

POLICE are reporting the arrest of 14 persons during separate operations conducted by officers from the Southeastern and Southwestern Divisions on Tuesday 5th May 2015.

During the operation conducted by Southeastern Division officers, 6 persons were arrested for various offences such as house breaking, causing harm, stealing and threats of death.During the operation conducted by Southwestern Division officers, wanted housebreaking suspect Tameko Williams of Ferguson Subdivision was arrested. Seven (7) other persons were arrested for house breaking and outstanding court warrants.

2 FIREARMS SEIZED BY FTIU OFFICERS

According to reports, shortly after, on Tuesday 5th May 2015, officers from the Firearms Tracing and Investigations Unit (FTIU) acting on intelligence went to a bushy area located at Faith United Way, where they uncovered a handgun and a high powered assault rifle along with 2 round s of ammunition. No one was arrested for this discovery.

Investigations are ongoing.
