POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are investigation a shooting incident Saturday, 29th February, 2020 which has left an adult female detained in hospital. 

According to reports, shortly after 1:00am, a woman was standing on the outside of a night club on Market Street and Palm Tree Avenue, when she was approached by a male who shot her multiple times to the body before running away. She was transported to a hospital and is listed in critical condition. No one else was injured during this incident.

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station.

DANGEROUS DRUGS RECOVERED – TWO ADULT MALES IN
CUSTODY

Police have recovered a quantity of dangerous drugs from the streets of New Providence, and have taken two men into custody, Friday, 28th February, 2020.

According to reports, shortly before 1:00pm, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers conducted a search of a home on Wilmar Street off Soldier Road and recovered eleven plastic wrapping with suspected marijuana. Officers also searched a vehicle, on the same property and recovered an additional three wrapping of suspected marijuana. 

Two men who were in the home during the time of the search were taken into custody and are expected to be formally charged before a Magistrate Court next week.
