RBPF Nassau: Drug possession arrest - 205 drivers ticketed, 9 arrests

9 ARRESTED AND 205 DRIVERS TICKETED DURING POLICE OPERATION

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, police conducted an island-wide operation in New Providence on Tuesday 11th July 2017.

The operation targeted wanted persons and drivers who were in breach of the rules of the road.

A total of 205 drivers were ticketed for various violations and three (9) persons were arrested for Outstanding Court Warrants, Housebreaking and Possession of Dangerous Drugs.

Police wish to reassure members of the public, that they are utilizing all resources to ensure that individuals who continue to be engaged in criminal activities are arrested and brought to justice.

MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, police took a man into custody after he was found in possession of a quantity of dangerous drugs on Tuesday 11th July 2017.

According to reports, around 6:00pm, officers assigned to the Southern Division conducted search of a Honda Civic car driven by a male on Market Street and found a quantity of marijuana. The male was subsequently taken into custody.
