FEMALE IN CUSTODY FOR STABBING INCIDENT

Nassau, Bahamas - A 28 – year old woman is in custody after she was arrested for a stabbing incident that occurred on Friday 14th November 2014.

According to reports, shortly after 1:00am on Friday 14th November 2014, the victim was involved in an altercation with his girlfriend on Ross Corner that resulted in him being stabbed in the shoulder with a knife. The victim was transported to hospital where he is detained in stable condition. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody in connection with this incident.

30 ARRESTED AND A FIREARM SEIZED DURING POLICE OPERATION

POLICE are reporting that an illegal handgun and a quantity of dangerous drugs were seized during two separate police operations on Thursday 13th November 2014 led by Chief Superintendent Ashton Greenslade and Chief Superintendent Clayton Fernander.

The operations were aimed at disrupting crime groups and targeting persons involved in criminal activities, such and Drugs and Firearms, Persons wanted for various criminal offences, Prolific Offenders, Persons wanted for Outstanding Court Warrants and motorists operating in Breach of the Traffic Laws.

During the operations, 30 persons were arrested on suspicion of committing various serious offences.

COURT ARRAIGNMENTS

The following suspects will be arraigned in court today:

At 10:00am a 39 – year woman of Mermaid Boulevard for two counts of Stealing by Reason of Employment and three counts of Possession of a False Document.

At 10:00am a 43 – year old man of Garden Hills #2 for Fraud By False Pretenses and Abetment of Fraud by False Pretenses.

At 11:00am a 51 – year old male Correctional Officer of Pinewood Gardens, will appear in court for Possession of Dangerous Drugs with Intent to Supply.

10 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of ten (10) persons during the past 24 hours for various criminal offences.
