FEMALE ARRESTED BY DEU OFFICERS DURING DRUG RAID

Nassau, Bahamas - POLICE have made another dent in the fight against drugs as a result of a large drug seizure and the arrest of a 26 – year old female on Wednesday 23rd July 2014.

According to reports, shortly after 2:00pm, Drug Enforcement Unit officers acting on intelligence executed a search warrant at a residence situated at Strachan’s Alley off Kemp Road, where they uncovered 12 pounds of suspected Marijuana with an estimated street value $12,000.00.

The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to appear in court sometime tomorrow to be formally charged.


15 SUSPECTS ARRESTED AND 2 NIGHTCLUBS CLOSED DURING SOUTHERN DIVISION OPERATION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s 2014 Policing Priorities, a team of officers from the Southern Division conducted a major police operation in the division overnight. The operated targeted a number of persons wanted for a number of major and minor offences.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 16 persons for various criminal offences.

One of the persons arrested was a 20 – year old male wanted for a number of armed robberies.

Additionally, the officers shut down a nightclub located on East Street south and another located at Market and King Streets for operating in Breach of the Business License Act.

12 SUSPECTS ARRESTED DURING EASTERN DIVISION OPERATION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s 2014 Policing Priorities, a team of officers from the Eastern Division conducted a major police operation in the division overnight. The operated targeted a number of persons wanted for a number of major and minor offences.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 5 persons for Housebreaking, 3 for Dangerous Drugs, 2 for Causing Harm, 1 Firearm Oossession and 1 for Breach of the Immigration Act.
