Nassau police searching for suspects in shooting and armed robberies - Firearm and drugs seized

POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN SHOOTING AND ARMED ROBBERIES

Nassau, Bahamas - In the first incident shortly after 1:30pm on Monday 22nd August 2016, a man was standing in front of a local bank located in Palmdale, when two men armed with handguns approached and robbed him of a deposit bag containing an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing in a silver Honda vehicle license number 2981.

In the second incident shortly after 3:00am on Tuesday 23rd August 2016, a man had just pulled up to his home located at Monastery Park, when two men armed with handguns approached and robbed him of a cell phone and cash. The suspects then shot the victim before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

FIREARM AND DRUGS SEIZED

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2016, Police seized another illegal firearm and a quantity of dangerous drugs off the streets of New Providence in separate incidents on Monday 22nd August 2016.

In the first incident shortly before 2:00pm, Police acting on intelligence went to a bushy area off Graham Drive, Yellow Elder Gardens, where they uncovered 17 pounds of marijuana. No one was arrested in connection with this discovery.

In the second incident shortly after 4:00pm, Selective Enforcement Team Officers, acting on intelligence went to a bushy area off Bernard Road, where they uncovered a .45 handgun with 13 rounds of ammunition. No one was arrested in connection with this discovery.
