RBPF Nassau: Four in custody for Large Drug seizure following a Raid on a Home - Illegal Handgun Seized - Man in Custody for Drug Possession

 FOUR IN CUSTODY FOR LARGE DRUG SEIZURE FOLLOWING A RAID ON A HOME
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, officers assigned to the Selective Enforcement Team took three males and a female into custody following a large drug seizure at a home on Thursday 25th May 2017.
According to reports, around 10:30pm, a team of officers assigned to the Selective Enforcement Team, executed a search warrant for dangerous drugs at a home located at Churchill Avenue off Boyd Road. During the search the officers uncovered two cardboard boxes containing 35 pounds of marijuana.
Three males and a female, all residents of the home were taken into custody in connection with the discovery.
ILLEGAL HANDGUN SEIZED
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, police seized another illegal firearm off the streets of New Providence on Thursday 25th May 2017.
According to reports, shortly before 4:00pm, a team of officers assigned to the Eastern Division, acting on information search an unfinished building located at Abner Street, Fox Hill and uncovered a .40 Glock Austria Pistol. No one was arrested in connection with the find.
MAN IN CUSTODY FOR DRUG POSSESSION
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, officer assigned to the Tourism Policing Unit took a man into custody following the seizure of a quantity of dangerous drugs on Thursday 25th May 2017.
According to reports, shortly after 7:00pm, officers assigned to the Tourism Policing Unit, were on foot patrol on Bay Street, when they saw a man walking who aroused their suspicion. The officers accosted the man and found a quantity of marijuana in his possession. The man was then taken into custody in connection with the discovery.

Everyone should consider it his/her responsibility to report crime. Many criminals target favorite areas and have predictable methods of operation. When you report all the facts about a crime, it helps the police assign officers in the places where crimes are occurring or where they are most likely to occur. If you don’t report crime, this allows the criminal to continue to operate without interference.
In many cases, it is the information provided by victims and witnesses that leads to the arrest of a criminal. So tell the police as much as you can; no fact is too trivial. The police need the eyes and ears of all citizens.
