RBPF Nassau: Handgun recovered during operation - American visitors arrested for dangerous drugs

HANDGUN RECOVERED DURING POLICE OPERATION

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2015, police conducted an island-wide anti-crime operation on Friday 11th September 2015 that targeted persons suspected of being involved in criminal activities.

During the operation police recovered a handgun along with two live rounds of ammunition outside of a building located at Graham Drive, Yellow Elder Gardens. No one was arrested for this discovery.

AMERICAN VISITORS ARRESTED FOR DANGEROUS DRUGS

A 35 –year old American man from Tampa, Florida and 28 –year old American man from Eufaula, Alabama is in custody after they were arrested for possession of dangerous drugs on Friday 11th September 2015.

According to reports, around 3:30pm, officers from the Tourism Policing Unit acting on information went to a cruise ship moored at Prince George Wharf, where they found the two suspects in possession of a quantity of marijuana. The suspects were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court early next week to be formally charged.
