RBPF Nassau: Illegal Firearm, dangerous drugs seized

Nassau, Bahamas - Police ha s removed yet another firearm and a quantity of dangerous drugs from the street of New Providence in separate incidents, on Wednesday, 6 th December, 2017.

Intelligence led policing has led Drug Enforcement Officer s to conduct a search of a home on Willow Street, Pinewood Gardens, S hortly after 5 :00 am, where they found a 8 millimeter Kirmar Pistol . O ne (1) woman and two (2) men were arrested in connection with this matter.

Then, shortly after 3:00pm, Officers from the Eastern Division, acting on information searched an abandon house on Grant Street, Fox Hill and found a large quantity of Marijuana. No arrest was made in this incident.  Investigations into both matters are ongoing.  

FIREARMS LICENSING OFFICE NEW OPERATING HOURS

 Police wish to notify members of the public that the Royal Bahamas Police Force Firearms Licensing Office on Thompson Boulevard will be open to customers from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am - 4pm and on Saturdays from 10:00am – 2:00pm until further notice. The office will be closed on Sundays and Holidays.  

Members of the Public who have not already done so, are asked to visit the office on Thompson Boulevard to renew their license.  All Firearms Licenses expires as of 31st December, 2017. After this date, a late fee will be charged at the time of renewal.   

POLICE ARE APPEALING TO ANYONE WITH INFORMATION REGARDING ANY CRIME, NO MATTER HOW SMALL OR INSIGNIFICANT (THE TIP) MAY SEEM, TO ANONYMOUSLY CALL POLICE AT 919 OR CRIME STOPPERS AT 328-TIPS (8477) (NEW PROVIDENCE) OR 1-242-300-8476 (FAMILY ISLANDS)
