ILLEGAL DRUGS AND AMMUNITION SEIZED, 5 MALES IN CUSTODY


Nassau, Bahamas - The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led to a quantity of dangerous drugs and ammunition being taken from the streets of New Providence.

Shortly after 1:00am, Friday, 24th August, 2018 Southcentral Division Officers conducted a search of a home on Mildred Avenue, Millers Heights and recovered 6 packages of suspected marijuana and 3 round of ammunition. 

Five adults male who were in the home at the time were taken into custody and are expected to be formally charged before the Magistrate Court next week.
Weight of drugs: 4lbs Valued at $4,600.

ILLEGAL FIREARM AND AMMUNITION RECOVERED

Police on the island of New Providence have recovered another illegal firearm and a quantity of ammunition, Friday, 24th August, 2018.

According to reports, shortly after 2:00am, Mobile Division Officers, acting on information went to the parking lot of a business establishment on Soldier Road, where they met a man sitting in a vehicle. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered a 9 millimeter pistol and 7 rounds of ammunition.

The man was taken into custody and is expected to be formally charged before the Magistrate Court next week.

104 DRIVERS TICKETED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS IN PAST 24 HOUR 

Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of 18 persons for outstanding criminal warrants, assault and possession of dangerous drugs, over the past 48 hours. 

Additionally, 104 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations.
