ILLEGAL FIREARM, AMMO SEIZED; ONE ARRESTED

Nassau, Bahamas - An adult male was taken into custody in relation to the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition on Wednesday 25th November 2015.

Reports are that shortly after 2:00pm, a special operations team was on patrol on Fowler Street, when saw the suspect standing among a group of men. The suspect on seeing the officers threw an object to the ground and fled on foot. The officers recovered a .45 pistol and nine rounds of ammunition. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody.

SUSPECT ARRESTED IN MILLERS HEIGHTS SHOOTING

Officers from the Selective Enforcement Team took into custody an adult male on Wednesday 25th November 2015 in connection with a shooting incident that occurred at a basketball court in Millers Heights shortly after 8:00pm on Tuesday 24th November 2015.

POLICE PROBE DEATH OF A MAN, SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

According to reports, shortly after 11:00am a man was standing in front of his home located on Sandilands Village Road, when a man known to him struck him with an object. The victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed. A 37 – year old male was subsequently arrested in connection with this incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
