RBPF Nassau: Illegal firearm recovered - 103 fixed penalty notices issued to drivers

ILLEGAL FIREARM RECOVERED

Nassau, Bahamas - According to reports, shortly before 3:00am Tuesday, 7th May, 2019, South Western Division Officers assisted by Officers of Royal Bahamas Police Force acting on information, searched a bushy area on Sierra Leone Drive, Flamingo Gardens, and recovered an AK 47 automatic rifle with thirty-six (36) rounds of ammunition.

No arrest was made in this incident. Investigations are ongoing.

103 FIXED PENALTY NOTICES ISSUED TO DRIVERS BY
MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS IN PAST 24 HOUR  

Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of four (4) persons for outstanding criminal warrants, attempted murder, damage and assault over the past hours.    

Additionally, 103 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations including 6 drivers disobeying the traffic light, 28 drivers driving an unlicensed vehicle and driving a vehicle with non-transparent glass.
