ILLEGAL FIREARM RECOVERED - 1 ADULT MALE IN CUSTODY


Nsssau, Bahamas - Police, have taken an adult male into custody, Saturday, 5th January, 2019, after he was found in possession of an illegal firearm.

According to reports, shortly before 2:00am, Mobile Division Officers, were on patrol on Farrington Road, Chippingham, when they had cause to stop a Toyota Vehicle with one occupant. The Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and recovered a 12 gauge Mossberg shot gun.

The man is expected to be formally charged before a Magistrate Court next week.

ROYAL BAHAMAS POLICE FORCE ANNUAL CHURCH
SERVICE AND PARADE

The Royal Bahamas Police Force Annual Church Service and Parade will be held at 2:00pm, on Sunday, 6th January, 2019 at Annex Baptist Cathedral located on Wulff Road and Peardale.

Prior to attending church, officers will gather at the Garden of Remembrance at Police Headquarters at 12:00noon, where a short memorial service will be held in honor of police officers who have fallen in the line of duty over the past years.

Officers led by Police Commissioner Anthony Ferguson, will parade south on East Street to Wulff Road, then east on Wulff Road, culminating at Annex Baptist Cathedral.

Following the service, the officers will parade west on Wulff Road to East Street, then north on East Street, concluding at Police Headquarters.

TRAFFIC DIVERSION

From 12:00pm, all vehicular traffic traveling the route of the procession from Police Headquarters to the church and from the church back to Police Headquarters will be diverted onto side streets until the procession reached the church on Wulff Road or Police Headquarters on East Street.

PARKING

Parking will be permitted at Police Headquarters, East Street and surrounding areas and at the Annex Baptist Cathedral, Wulff Road and surrounding areas, not obstructing drive-ways, business establishments and side-walks.
