POLICE INVESTIGATES ROBBERY INCIDENT

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on the island of New Providence are investigating a robbery incident which occurred, Sunday, 15th July, 2018.

According to reports, shortly after 4:00pm, a male tourist was riding a scooter on West Bay Street in the area of the go slow bend, when two men who were also riding a scooter, forced him to stop. One of the men pulled him from the scooter, before getting on it and both men speeding away.

Investigations are ongoing.

ILLEGAL FIREARM RECOVERED – 1 ADULT MALE IN CUSTODY

The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led to a quantity of dangerous drugs, an illegal firearm and ammunition being taken from the streets of New Providence.

Shortly before 2:00pm, Sunday 15th July, 2018 Mobile Division Officers were on routine patrols on First Street, when they saw a group of men sitting on the side of a home. One of the men, upon seeing the officers began acting in a suspicious manner. While searching this male, a .357 Revolver fell from the crotch of his pants. Officers were able to recover the firearm, which contained 5 round of ammunition and arrested the male.

He is expected to be formally charged before Magistrate Court next week.

SUSPECT TO BE ARRAIGNED IN COURT

Police are pleased to report that one (1) suspects will appear in the Magistrate Court, Monday, 16th July, 2018, at 12:00noon to be formally charged in connection with a recent homicide investigation.

The suspect will be charged with Murder in connection with the deaths of Shanindore Neely who was killed on 8th July, 2018 at Homestead Street.

  •     Take note of the hurricane shelters in your area.
  •     Secure all important documents in a waterproof container.
  •     Be sure to have a first aid kit, medication, flash lights, and a battery operated radio on hand.
  •     Secure all loose objects, including lawn furniture, on your property and place pets inside for safe keeping.
  •     Keep several days’ supply of food and water for each family member.
  •     DO NOT USE GENERATORS INDOORS.
  •     Follow all instructions from your local authorities regarding evacuation or other safety procedures.
