ILLEGAL FIREARMS RECOVERED, 1 MAN ARRESTED

Nassau, Bahamas -  Shortly after 1:00pm on Tuesday, 5th December, 2017 Anti-Gang and Firearms Officers and Officers of North Eastern Division acting on information went in the area of a carwash in the area of Mackey Street and Primrose Street, conducted a search of a property, where they recovered a Glock 21 pistol, thirteen (13) rounds of ammunition and a quantity of Marijuana.

One adult male was arrested in connection with this matter. Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATE AN OVERNIGHT SHOOTING

Police have launched an island-wide manhunt for the suspect responsible for a shooting that has left three men in hospital on Tuesday, 5th December, 2017.

Shortly before 9:00pm, Police received a report that three men were in the area of a park on Nicholls Court in Yellow Elder Gardens when they were approached by a male armed with a firearm who shot them before fleeing. The victims was taken to hospital where they remain in stable condition.   

Investigations are ongoing.  

228 DRIVERS TICKETED BY UNIFORM OFFICERS IN AN ISLAND WIDE OVERNGHT OPERATION

Officers from the Uniform and Mobile Divisions on New Providence conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to reduce crime, and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities, has resulted in the arrest of seventeen (17) person for outstanding criminal warrants, causing harm and possession of dangerous drugs.  

Additionally, 228 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations

FIREARMS LICENSING OFFICE NEW OPERATING HOURS

The Royal Bahamas Police Force Firearms Licensing Office on University Boulevard will be open to the public from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am - 4pm and on Saturdays from 10:00am – 2:00pm until further notice. The office will be closed on Sundays and Holidays.  

Members of the Public who have not already done so, are asked to visit the office on Thompson Boulevard to renew their license. 

All firearms Licenses will expire as of 31st December, 2017. After this date, a late fee will be charged at the time of renewal.
