Nassau, Bahamas - The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led to one illegal firearm being recovered from the streets of New Providence.

Shortly before 10:00pm, Monday, 7th May, 2018, Mobile Division officers were on routine patrol on East Street south, in the area of the Independence Highway, when they observed a Nissan Cube car with two male occupants traveling at a high speed. The officers stopped the vehicle and conducted a search of the men and the vehicle and recovered a Smith and Wesson 9 millimeter pistol and 6 rounds of ammunition.

The two adult males were taken into custody and are expected to be formally charged later this week.
