RBPF Nassau: Illegal firearms recovered, 4 persons in custody - 30 drivers ticketed

ILLEGAL FIREARMS RECOVERED, 4 PERSONS IN CUSTODY 

Nassau, Bahamas - The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led to one illegal firearm being recovered from the streets of New Providence.  

Shortly before 11:0am, Tuesday, 1st May, 2018 South Eastern Division Officers conducted a search of a home at Jumbey Street off Windsor Place Road and recovered an XP .45 Pistol and 5 rounds of ammunition.  

Two adult males and two adult females were taken into custody and are expected to be formally charged later this week.

30 DRIVERS TICKETED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS IN PAST 24 HOUR     

Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of 4 person for outstanding criminal warrants, possession of dangerous drugs and breach of a monitoring device, over the past 24 hours.    

Additionally, 30 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations

PREVENTION CRIME TIP: TAKE A STAND AGAINST ILLEGAL FIREARMS BY COOPERATING WITH THE POLICE IN PROVIDING INFORMATION REGARDING THE WHEREABOUTS OF ANY ILLEGAL FIREARM.
