RBPF Nassau: Illegal gun and ammo seized, 2 arrested - Suspect in 3 armed robberies being sought

ILLEGAL GUN AND AMMO SEIZED, 2 ARRESTED

Nassau, Bahamas - Two men ages 30 and 22, were on Friday 30th October 2015 arrested following the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition.

Reports are that about shortly before 11:00am, officers from the Central Division were on routine patrol on Fleming Street, when the two men aroused their suspicion. The males were accosted and a handgun with eleven rounds of ammunition was found in their possession.

The two men were arrested, and formal charges are expected to be laid against them early next week.

SUSPECTS IN THREE ARMED ROBBERIES BEING SOUGHT

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspects responsible for three armed robberies that occurred in New Providence on Friday 30th October 2015.

In the first incident, shortly before 11:00am, a woman was sitting in her grey 1996 Ford Explorer vehicle parked in front of her residence located on Foster Street, Chippingham, when a man armed with a handgun approached and robbed her of her vehicle before speeding off.

In the second incident, shortly after 4:00pm, a man armed with a handgun went into a business establishment located at Shirley and Church Streets, where he robbed the establishment of a small amount of cash before fleeing on foot.

In the third incident, around 6:30pm, a woman was walking Windward Road off Carmichael Road, when two males in a white Honda vehicle armed with a firearm approached and robbed her of her handbag containing, cash and a cell phone before speeding off.
