RBPF Nassau: Industrial accident leaves 1 male dead - Police continues investigation into armed robbery

INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT LEAVES 1 MALE DEAD


Nassau, Bahamas - According to reports, shortly after 3:00pm, Thursday, 24th May, 2018, an employee of a construction company was standing on a scaffolding, while working on a high rise condominium complex, West Bay Street, when it collapsed causing the man to fall to the ground. Paramedics were called to the scene but were unsuccessful in reviving the male. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing into this matter.

POLICE CONTINUES INVESTIGATION INTO ARMED ROBBERY

Police are continuing investigation into an armed robbery which occurred Friday, 25th May, 2018.

According to reports, shortly after 1:00am, a male was on a boat which was moored at Arawak Cay, when three men, one armed with a firearm boarded the vessel and robbed him of cash. As the men were searching the vessel, police officers arrived.

Two of the suspects jumped into the sea and made good their escape, while the third male was captured and taken into custody. 
Investigations are ongoing.
