Nassau police investigate major theft - Seize firearm - Robbery suspect arrested

POLICE INVESTIGATE MAJOR THEFT REPORT

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s help in solving a major theft from an Eastern Road home.

According to reports, on Thursday 21st August 2014, a 60yrl resident of Paris and the Eastern Road reported to police that he had workers on his property doing some work. The following day he discovered a large sum of cash, watches and jewelry missing

NORTHEASTERN POLICE SEIZE FIREARM

According to reports, officers from the Wulff Road Police Station acting on intelligence were led to bushes that lay between Peardale and Union Village where they discovered a .380 pistol in a pile of rubble loaded with four bullets. The Firearm was handed over to Firearm Tracing and Investigations Unit to continue investigations.

Quick action by police as resulted in two men being arrested in the Bethel Avenue north area for attempting to rob a male.  According to reports, sometime around 3:40am on Saturday 23rd August a male was driving his vehicle south along Bethel Avenue, when he observed a female in the street. This female beckoned to him for assistance and he stopped his car to assist, but while doing so contacted the police. Just then two males accosted the driver with objects in their hand and attempted to rob the male. Officers from CDU responded to the scene and arrested the two culprits a short time later.
