RBPF Nassau: Shooting in Sutton St. area - Firerm found in Strachan's Corner - 2 arrests made (death threats & drug possesion)

MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS MAKE SEVERAL ARRESTS

• In the first incident, sometime around 12:00pm on Saturday 6 September, officer responded to a call on East and Young Streets. Their inquiries led them to the arrest of an 18yr old Apple Street male for threats of death;

• In the second incident, sometime around 5:15pm on Saturday 6 September, officer from Mobile Unit, while on routine patrol on Nassau Street, had occasion to stop a Nissan Cube vehicle. Their suspicion was aroused and led them to search the vehicle where they seized a quantity of marijuana. They took a 24yr old Imperial Park male into custody for the drugs;

DRUG ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS UNCOVER FIREARM

According to reports, sometime around 6:15pm on Saturday 6 September 2014, DEU officers acting on intelligence went to a bushy area off Strachan’s corner where they found a .380 pistol loaded with two bullets. No one was arrested.

POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police need the public’s help in helping them solve an overnight shooting incident in the Sutton Street area off Kemp Road.

According to reports, sometime around 7:15pm, officers were called to Sutton Street to reports of gunshots being discharged. Upon their arrival in the area the officers discovered a 22yr old male resident of Williams Land suffering from apparent gunshot injuries while attending the repast for a loved one. He was transported to Princess Margaret hospital. His injuries are non life threatening.
