RBPF Nassau: American arrested for failing to declare - Firearm possession arrest - 6 arrested in 24 hrs

MALE ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS FOR FIREARM POSSESSION

Nassau, Bahamas - According to reports, shortly after 12:00am, on Tuesday 14th July 2015, officers from the Mobile Division acting on intelligence went to Graham Drive, Yellow Elder Gardens, where they observed a male acting suspiciously. The male on seeing the officers threw a handgun to the ground. The officers retrieved a .380 pistol from the ground along with one (1) live round of ammunition and took the 26- year old male of Graham Drive into custody. The male is expected to appear in court later this week to be formally charged

AMERICAN MAN ARRESTED FOR FAILING TO DECLARE


An American man from Mississippi, USA is in custody for Failing to Declare and Making a False Declaration on Monday 13th July 2015.

According to reports, shortly after 3:00pm, the man was returning to the United States, when United States Customs and Border Patrol officials detained him at the United States Pre-Clearance Departure Lounge at LPIA for Failing to Declare $30,000.00 and Making a False Declaration. The man was handed over to the police and is expected to appear in court at 10:00am this morning to be formally charged.

6 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS DURING 24 HOURS PERIOD

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrests of six (6) persons during the past 24 hours for various minor and major offences.
