MAN TO BE ARRAIGNED ON MURDER CHARGE

Nassau, Bahamas -  Police have charged a 31 year old male of Resurrection Drive for the Murder of Andrew Woods that occurred at a convenience store located at Rock Crusher Road on 23rd May 2014. The suspect will appear in court at 11:00am this morning to be formally charged.

HANDGUN SEIZED BY DEU OFFICERS

According to reports, shortly before 11:00am, Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) Officers acting on intelligence went to a bushy area located at Hampton Street and Mt. Royal Avenue, where they uncovered a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. No one was arrested for this incident. Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE SHUT DOWN “BLOCK PARTY” DURING OPERATION

In response to numerous reports of residents being disturbed by loud music and gunshots being fired, the police mounted an operation in the Montel Heights area, where a large “block party” was being held in the street on Tuesday 5th August 2014.

The police operation team was able to quickly shut down the block party and arrest five males ages 51, 30, 31, 25 and 16, for Breach of the Music and Dance Act. The men are also being questioned for firearm possession.

The men will appear in court at a later date to be formally charged.
