RBPF Nassau:Man on bail for armed robbery arrested for stolen vehicle - Two males in custody for drug possession

MAN ON BAIL FOR ARMED ROBBERY ARRESTED FOR STOLEN VEHICLE

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Police took two men into custody after they were found in possession of a stolen vehicle on Tuesday 19th September 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 2:00am, Mobile Division officers were on routine patrol in Pastel Gardens, when they intercepted a Honda Accord vehicle occupied by two males. The two males were accosted and during a search of the vehicle, it was identified to be a vehicle reported stolen in March 2017. The two males, one of whom is on bail for armed robbery were subsequently taken into custody.

TWO MALES IN CUSTODY FOR DRUG POSSESSION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2017, Police took two men into custody for two separate dangerous drugs seizures on Tuesday 19th September 2017.

In the first incident shortly after 7:30am, Drug Enforcement Unit officers were routine patrol on Dunmore Street, when the saw a man who aroused their suspicion. The man was accosted, searched, and 97 foil wraps each containing, marijuana was taken from him. The man was subsequently taken into custody.

Then shortly after 12:00noon, Drug Enforcement Unit officers acting on intelligence executed a search warrant on a home located at Hillbrook Close off Wulff Road, where they uncovered two pounds of marijuana. A male occupant of the home was subsequently taken into custody.

Police are appealing to the public to share information on any illegal/suspicious activities in their communities, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, members of the public are urged to anonymously contact the police at 919 or Crime Stoppers at 328-tips (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Island)
