Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s help in solving an
armed robbery that occurred on Thursday 24th July 2014.
According
to reports, shortly after 9:00pm, two men were walking on West Bay
Street, when two men robbed them of a cell phone and cash before fleeing
on foot.Investigations are ongoing.
Suspect in Custody for Murder: Central
Detective Unit officers took into custody a 26 – year old man shortly
after 1:00am on Friday 25th July 2014 at Palm Beach Street and Robinson
Road for questioning reference to a murder that occurred in 2013.
Police
are investigating a
stabbing incident that occurred on Friday 25th July
2014. According to reports, shortly after 1:00am, a man was at
Cordeaux Avenue and East Street, when another man stabbed him in the
head and fled on foot.
The victim was transported to hospital, where he is detained in stable condition.Investigations are ongoing.
24 ARRESTED DURING NORTHEASTERN DIVISION OPERATION
Consistent with the Commissioner’s 2014 Policing Priorities, a team of officers from the Northeastern Division conducted a major police operation in the division overnight. The operation targeted a number of persons wanted for a number of major and minor offences.
The operation reaped the following arrests;
Sixteen (16) persons for House Breaking
Three (3) persons for Threats of Harm
Two (2) persons for Causing Harm
One (1) person for Assault
One (1) person for Threats of Death & Causing Damage
One (1) person for Stealing & Assault
8 ARRESTED BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS OVERNIGHT
Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the following arrests overnight:
Three (3) arrests for outstanding Criminal Complaints
Two (2) arrests for Outstanding Criminal Warrants
One (1) arrest for Deceit of a Public Officer
One (1) arrest for Assault
One (1) arrest for Fraudulent Document
