RBPF Nassau: Murder suspect to be charged - Victim identified - Illegal firearm recovered

MURDER SUSPECT TO BE CHARGED

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are pleased to announce that two adult males will be formally charged in Magistrate Court at 12:00 noon on Friday, 24th May, 2019 in connection with two homicide investigations.

  • A 33 year old male will be formally charged with murder in connection with the death of Lamont Fisher, who was killed on 7th May, 2019 at Dominica Way.
  • A 22 year old male will be formally charged with murder in connection with the death of Kyle Rolle and the attempted murder of four others which occurred on 14th May, 2019 at Plantol Street.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force thanks members of the public for assisting with information, which has led to the arrest of a suspect in these matters. We are encouraged by your support and ask that you continue to partner with us as we work diligently to create safer communities.

VICTIM IDENTIFIED

Police have officially identified the male who was discovered dead on Sunday, 19th May, 2019 at Port New Providence, as Danny Roy Lee, 29 years of Great Britain. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of his death.

Investigations are ongoing

ILLEGAL FIREARM RECOVERED

According to reports, shortly after 6:00pm Thursday, 23rd May, 2019, Anti-Gang and Firearms Officers, acting on information conducted a search of a bushy area on Quarry Mission Road and recovered a 9 millimeter pistol and 4 rounds of ammunition.
No arrests was made in this incident. Investigations are ongoing.

55 FIXED PENALTY NOTICES ISSUED TO DRIVERS BY MOBILE
DIVISION OFFICERS IN PAST 24 HOUR  

Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of seven (7) persons for outstanding criminal warrants over the past 24 hours. 

Additionally, 55 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations
