POLICE NAB 4 SUSPECTS SHORTLY AFTER ROBBERY

Nassau, Bahamas - Quick action by police has led to the apprehension of three adult males and an adult female shortly after they allegedly committed two robberies on Monday 2nd March 2015.

According to reports, shortly before 5:00pm, a man was jogging on Coral Harbour Road, when the suspects who were driving in a grey jeep robbed him off his cell phone before speeding off. The suspects also robbed a woman walking in the area off her handbag containing a cell phone.

Police were immediately alerted and a short while later officers from the Southwestern Division on patrol spotted the vehicle in the Coral Harbor area. The officers ordered the occupants of the vehicle to stop but they refused and sped off with a high rate of speed. The officers gave chase after the vehicle and brought it to a stop on Cowpen Road where they arrested the four suspects.

POLICE also discovered that the three male suspects are presently on bail for a number of serious offences.

MOBILE DIVISION SATURATION PATROLS NETS 6 ARRESTS AND 65 DRIVERS CITED

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrest of six (6) persons for various offences and sixty-five (65) drivers cited for various traffic violations during the past 24 hours:

MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS SEIZE DANGEROUS DRUGS ON PETER STREET


According to reports, around 10:00am on Monday 2nd March 2015, Mobile Division officers were patrol on Peter Street near East Street, when they observed two males standing near a garbage bin acting suspiciously. The males on seeing the officers fled on foot. The officers gave chase but were unable to catch the two males. The officers conducted a search of the area and found a plastic bag containing 26 small packages of cocaine underneath the garbage bin.

POLICE IDENTIFY AUGUSTA STREET HOMICIDE VICTIM

The man shot and killed at Augusta Street on Tuesday 24th February 2015, has been identified as 32 – year old Robens Simbert of Gibbs Corner.

Police are actively investigating this matter and are appealing to members of the public who may have any information concerning this incident to come forth.
