POLICE OVERNIGHT ISLANDWIDE ANTI–CRIME OPERATION NETS 33 ARRESTS

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, police conducted an island wide anti -crime operation last evening that saw large contingents of police officers from the Uniform Divisions under the command of Assistant Commissioners Leon Bethel fan out across New Providence.

During the operation police targeted, Persons involved in criminal activities, such and Drugs and Firearms, Persons wanted for various criminal offences, Prolific Offenders and Persons wanted for Outstanding Court Warrants.

The overnight operation resulted in the arrests of 33 persons for a number of serious offences. At the end of the operation Assistant Commissioner Bethel commended the officers for their professionalism and excellent teamwork, which led to the successful operation.

6 ARRESTED OVERNIGHT BY MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities resulted in the arrests of six (6) persons overnight for various minor and major offences.

POLICE are appealing to anyone with information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) (New Providence) or 1-242-300-8476 (Family Islands)
