RBPF Nassau: Police Investigates armed robbery - Shooting incident - Illegal Firearm

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT 

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are investigation a shooting incident Sunday, 1st March, 2020 which has left an adult female detained in hospital and a male with minor injuries. 

According to reports, shortly after 1:00am, the victims were at a night club on Nassau Street, when an unknown male, armed with a firearm, entered the club and opened fire on the patrons, before making good his escape. The injured male and female were transported to hospital, where the female is listed in critical condition. The male was treated and discharged. 

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station.

POLICE INVESTIGATES ARMED ROBBERY

Police on the Island of New Providence are seeking assistance in identifying and locating the man responsible for an armed robbery which occurred Saturday, 29th February, 2020.

According to reports, shortly before 11:00pm, a female was standing next to her vehicle on the Eastern Road, when she was approached by an armed man who robbed her of the vehicle, a blue Nissan Versa License # AR8486, and made good his escape.

Investigations are ongoing.

ILLEGAL FIREARM RECOVERED

Police have recovered an illegal firearm from the streets of New Providence, Saturday, 29th February, 2020.

According to reports, shortly before 9:00pm, South Central Division Officers acting on intelligence, conducted a search of an abandon vehicle on Lincoln Boulevard and recovered a Remington 870 shot gun and one round of ammunition.

Investigations are ongoing.
