RBPF Nassau: Police Involved Shooting - Police Investigates Armed Robbery

POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING

Nassau, Bahamas - Shortly after 1:00pm, Wednesday, 6th February, 2019, Police Officers were conducting an operation in a Haitian Community off Joe Farrington Road, when they encountered a wanted male suspect. As an Officer attempted to arrest the suspect, he produced a knife and charged at the officer. The officer being in fear for his life, fired his service weapon at the suspect, injuring him. Paramedics were called the scene and attempted to revive the suspect; however, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have recovered a knife on the scene. 

Her Majesty’s Coroner visited this scene and will continue investigations into this matter.

POLICE INVESTIGATES ARMED ROBBERY
  
Police on the Island of New Providence are seeking assistance in identifying and locating two men responsible for an armed robbery which occurred Wednesday 6th February,7 2019.

According to reports, shortly after 6:00am, a man was walking on Hamster Road off Faith Avenue north, when he was approached by two men, one armed with a firearm, who robbed him of his wallet containing cash and other items, before running away. 
Investigations are ongoing.
