Nassau Police Make Drug Seizures - Police Seized Two Firearms

POLICE MAKE DRUG SEIZURE NEW PROVIDENCE

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Police Plan for 2017, Police in  New Providence seized a quantity of dangerous drugs on Thursday 30th March 2017.

Shortly after 12:30pm, police assigned to the Eastern Division conducted a search of a busy area located on Gun Hill Road where they uncovered a quantity of marijuana in a pillowcase.


POLICE SEIZED TWO FIREARMS

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Police Plan for 2017, police seized two firearms off the streets of New Providence on Thursday 30th March 2017.

According to reports, shortly after 10:00am, Mobile Division officers were on routine patrol in the area of Dunkirk and Johnson Roads, when they saw a man walked out of a building with a box in his hands. The man on seeing the officers dropped the box and fled on foot. The officers gave chase but were unable to
catch the man. The box was searched and found to contain two .308 Rifles along with an imitation shotgun.

Investigations are ongoing.
