RBPF Nassau: Police Operations continue to reap results - Two in custody for Drug Possession

POLICE OPERATIONS CONTINUE TO REAP RESULTS

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Police conducted several operations throughout New Providence on Wednesday 7th June 2017 to send a clear message to those responsible for committing criminal acts on members of our communities, that the police will proactively identify them and ensure that they are prosecuted and brought to justice.

The operations resulted in 13 persons being arrested for possession of dangerous drugs, armed robbery, outstanding warrants and breach of the Immigration Act.
Additionally 322 drivers were ticketed for various traffic offenses.

TWO IN CUSTODY FOR DRUG POSSESSION

Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2017, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers took into custody two males following the seizure of a quantity of dangerous drugs at the Potters Cay Dock on Wednesday 7th June 2017.

Reports are that shortly after 3:00pm, Drug Enforcement Unit officers acting on information searched a premises at Potters Cay Dock and uncovered a quantity of marijuana. Two males were taken into custody in connection with this seizure.
