RBPF Nassau: Police are investigating the country’s latest homicide - Male arrested at LPIA for drug possession

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THE COUNTRY’S LATEST
HOMICIDE. 

Police on New Providence are investigating a shooting incident, Tuesday, 28th May, 2019 which left a juvenile male dead and two others detained in hospital.

According to reports, shortly before 11:00pm, three men were walking on Raymond Road, when they were approached by three armed men, who opened fire in their direction, injuring them before running away. The injured men were transported to hospital, where a short time later a juvenile was pronounced dead. The other males are listed in serious condition. 

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigations, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station. 

Investigations are ongoing.

MALE ARRESTED AT LPIA FOR DRUG POSSESSION

An adult male was taken into custody at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) on Tuesday 28th May, 2019, after he was found in possession of dangerous drugs. 
According to reports shortly after 2:00pm, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers, observed a male in the Customs Hall who upon seeing them, begin acting in a suspicious manner. The officers conducted a search of the male and his bag and recovered a package which contained suspected cocaine. It is believed that the male, a Bahamian, had just arrived from Suriname through Jamaica via Caribbean Airlines. 

He was taken into custody and is expected to be formally charged before a Magistrate Court this week. Weight of Drugs: 10 lbs.
