POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THE COUNTRY’S LATEST HOMICIDE

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are investigating a shooting incident Wednesday, 8th May 2019, which left two adult males dead.

According to reports, shortly after 8:00pm, police responded to an eatery at Potter’s Cay Dock after hearing sounds of gunshots. Officers discovered that two men had been shot to the upper body by a man who ran from the area, making good his escape.  Paramedics visited the scene and attended the injured men; however, they were pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station. 

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police on New Providence are investigating a shooting incident, Wednesday, 8th May, 2019 which has left an adult male in hospital.

According to reports, shortly after 11:00pm a male was sitting on the outside of a home on Anderson Street, when he was approached by two armed men who demanded cash and shot him before getting into a white vehicle and speeding away. The injured man was transported to hospital where he is listed in stable condition. Nothing was taken during this incident and no one else was injured. 

Investigations are ongoing.

CRIME PREVENTION TIP - CONFLICT RESOLUTION

  • Look for ways to settle arguments and disagreements without violence. Remember: if you resort to violence to settle disputes, a child may well follow your example. Be a good role model.
  • Use good manners to help ease tensions that can lead to violence. Teach kids that showing respect for themselves and for the needs of others can prevent crime.
