RBPF Nassau: Police are investigating the country’s latest homicide - Shooting incident - Stabbing incident

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are investigating a stabbing incident Tuesday, 7th May 2019, which left an adult male dead.

According to reports, shortly after 4:00pm, police and paramedics responded to Dominica Way, Sunshine Park, after receiving reports that a male was walking in the area, with what appeared to be stab wounds to his body. Paramedics were able to stabilize the injured man and transported him to hospital, where a few hours later he was pronounced dead. 

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station. 

Investigations are ongoing.


Police on the Island of New Providence are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the persons responsible for a shooting incident, Tuesday 7th May, 2019, which left an adult male in hospital.

According to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, a man was sitting in a vehicle in front of a residence on Alexandria Road off Carmichael Road, when he was approached by a group of men armed with firearms, who opened fire in his direction, hitting him multiple times about the body, before getting into a gray jeep and speeding away.

The injured man was transported to hospital and is detained in serious condition. 
Investigations are ongoing.


Police have taken two men into custody in connection with a stabbing incident Wednesday, 8th May, 2018 which left an adult male detained in hospital.

According to reports, shortly before 2:00am, a male was at a home on Marshall Road off Baillou Hill Road south, when he got into an altercation with two men, who stabbed him about the body. He was transported to hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

  • Use good manners to help ease tensions that can lead to violence. Teach kids that showing respect for themselves and for the needs of others can prevent crime.
