Nassau police continue investigation into armed robbery

POLICE CONTINUES INVESTIGATION INTO ARMED ROBBERY

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are seeking the public’s assistance with any information that can assist in solving an armed robbery which occurred Wednesday, 19th September, 2018.

According to reports, shortly after 10:00am, a male armed with a firearm entered a convenience store on Wulff Road west of Market Street, held an employee at bay and robbed the establishment of cash, before escaping into a nearby residential community.

Investigations are ongoing.

ILLEGAL FIREARM AMMUNITION DRUGS RECOVERED

According to reports, shortly before 3:00pm, Wednesday, 19th September, 2018, Flying Squad Officers and RBDF Officers acting on information, conducted a search of a property at Lewis Street off Market Street and recovered a .9 millimeter pistol with 1 round of ammunition.  

No arrest was made in this incident. Investigations are ongoing.

135 FIXED PENALTY NOTICES ISSUED TO DRIVERS BY
MOBILE AND TRAFFIC DIVISION OFFICERS IN PAST 24 HOUR  

Officers from the Mobile and Traffic Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of ten (10) persons for outstanding criminal warrants, breech of bail conditions, and unlawful sexual intercourse, over the past 24 hours. 
 
Additionally, 135 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations, 75 of which were for Driving in Excess of the speed limit.

Police wishes to remind motorist to obey all traffic laws and to drive with due care and attention.
