POLICE INVESTIGATE RECENT ARMED ROBBERIES

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are seeking the public’s assistance with information that can assist in solving two armed robberies which occurred overnight. 

In the first incident, shortly after 11:00pm Tuesday, 21st August, 2018 a man was on Jean Street off Prince Charles Drive, when he was approached by a male armed with a firearm, who robbed him of his 2006 gray Honda Fit.

In the second incident, according to reports, shortly after 12:00 mid night Wednesday, 22nd August, 2018 a man had just pulled into the parking lot of a gaming establishment on Prince Charles Drive, when he was approached by a male armed with a firearm, who came from a black Honda CRV. The gunman robbed him of cash and other items before getting into his white Mercedes Jeep, license # AM5239 and speeding away.

Investigations are ongoing.
POLICE INVESTIGATE ALLEDGED DROWNING 

Police are investigation an alleged drowning, Wednesday, 22nd August, 2018, which occurred on the island of New Providence. 

According to reports, shortly before 9:00am, the body of an adult black male was discovered submerged in waters at Potter’s Cay Dock. The body was retrieved from the waters, and examined by Emergency Medical Personnel.  Foul play is not suspected at this time; however, an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigations are ongoing 

BODY OF A FEMALE DISCOVERED IN FIELD

Police on the island of New Providence are investigation the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of an elderly female, Wednesday, 22nd August, 2018. 

Shortly after 12:00noon, the female’s body was discovered in a field on Rose Close off Hanna Road.

It is suspected that the body may be that of an elderly female, who was reported missing by family members on Monday 20th August, 2018, however, police await the results of an official identification and an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.

Investigations are ongoing.
