RBPF Nassau: Police investigates a shooting incident that has left an adult male dead

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING THE COUNTRY’S LATEST
HOMICIDE.  

Police on New Providence are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident Thursday, 23rd January, 2020 which has left an adult male dead.  

According to reports, shortly before 9:00pm, two armed men, forced their way into a home on Higher Drive, Flamingo Gardens, opened fire on a male occupant of the home, wounding him before getting into a silver vehicle and speeding away. Paramedics were called to the scene; however; the injured man was pronounced dead on scene. No one else was injured during this incident.  

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigations, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station.  

Investigations are ongoing.

DANGEROUS DRUGS RECOVERED - 3 ADULT MALES IN
CUSTODY

Police have recovered a quantity of dangerous drugs from the streets of Exuma Island and New Providence and have taken three males into custody, Thursday, 23rd January, 2020.

In the first incident, according to reports, shortly after 7:00pm, Exuma Division Officers, acting on information, conducted a search of a bushy area in the settlement of Mount Thompson and recovered five packages of suspected marijuana.

No arrest was made in this incident. Investigations are ongoing.

Value: $16,000.00

In the second incident, according to reports, shortly after 7:00pm, Mobile Division Officers, acting on information conducted a search of a home on Forster Street, Chippingham and recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana and cash.

Three Jamaican Males who were in the home at the time of the search, were taken into custody and are expected to be formally charged in connection with this seizure.
