RBPF Nassau: Police investigates a shooting incident which left an adult male detained in hospital

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT 

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are investigation a shooting incident Monday, 9th March, 2020 which has left an adult male detained in hospital. 

According to reports, shortly after 10:00pm, the victim was standing outside a nightclub on Price Street, Nassau Village, when he was approached by an armed man who shot him before running away. The injured man was transported to hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition. 

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station. 
Investigations are ongoing.

INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating an industrial accident, Monday, 9th March, 2020, which has left one male dead.

According to reports, shortly before 8:00pm, a construction worker was standing on the roof of a building at Albany Resort, when he fell to the ground and became unresponsive. Emergency Medical Personnel were called to the scene and attempted to resuscitate the victim, but were unsuccessful. He died at the scene.  
Investigations are ongoing.

89 FIXED PENALTY NOTICES ISSUED TO DRIVERS BY MOBILE
DIVISION OFFICERS IN PAST 48 HOUR  

Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of eighteen (18) persons for outstanding criminal warrants, over the past 48 hours. 

Additionally, 89 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations.

PREVENTION CRIME TIP - TAKE A STAND AGAINST ILLEGAL FIREARMS BY COOPERATING WITH THE POLICE IN PROVIDING INFORMATION REGARDING THE WHEREABOUTS OF ANY ILLEGAL FIREARM.
