RBPF Nassau: Police investigates armed robberies - Illegal firearm and ammunition recovered

POLICE INVESTIGATES ARMED ROBBERIES

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are continuing to investigate and are asking members of the public, to come forth with any information they may have in solving two armed robberies, which occurred Thursday, 7th June, 2018.

In the first incident, shortly after 2:00pm, two men armed with firearms, entered a convenience store on Mackey and Rosetta Streets, held employees at bay and robbed the establishment of cash before fleeing on foot.

In the second incident, shortly after 7:00pm, an armed man entered a pharmacy located at Market and Fleming Streets, held employees at bay and robbed the establishment of cash before running away.

Investigations are ongoing.

ILLEGAL FIREARM AND AMMUNITION RECOVERED

The enduring and dedicated work of the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Police Force has led to two illegal firearms being recovered from the streets of New Providence, Thursday, 7th June, 2018, in two separate incidents.

In the first incident, shortly after 7:00am, Officers from Southwestern Division along with Bahamas Immigration Officers, conducted a search in area of the basketball court at Carmichael and Bacardi Roads,and recovered a .40 pistol and 4 rounds of ammunition.

In the second incident, shortly after 5:00pm, Anti-Gang and Firearms officers, while at Wilson Track off Andros Avenue, conducted a search of bushes and recovered a 9 millimeter pistol and 2 round of ammunition.

No arrests were made in these incidents.  Investigations are ongoing

  •     Secure all loose objects, including lawn furniture, on your property and place pets inside for safe keeping.
  •     Keep several days’ supply of food and water for each family member.
  •     DO NOT USE GENERATORS INDOORS.
  •     Follow all instructions from your local authorities regarding evacuation or other safety procedures.
