RBPF Nassau: Police investigates armed robbery and alledged drowning

POLICE INVESTIGATES ARMED ROBBERY 
 
Nassau, Bahamas - Police on the Island of New Providence are seeking assistance in identifying and locating the person responsible for an armed robbery which occurred Sunday, 7th July, 2019.

According to reports, shortly after 8:00am, an armed man entered a major food store, located at East Street and Robinson Road, held employees and customers at bay and robbed the establishment of cash before making good his escape. No one was injured during this incident. 

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATE ALLEGED DROWNING 

Police are investigation an alleged drowning, Sunday 7th July, 2019 which has left an adult male dead.

According to reports, shortly after 3:00pm, a group of persons were swimming at Jaws Beach, in the western district of New Providence, when they noticed a male who appeared unresponsive, floating in the water. The male was pulled from the water and CPR rendered until paramedics arrived, however; he was pronounced dead a short time later. 

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Investigations are ongoing. 

68 FIXED PENALTY NOTICES ISSUED TO DRIVERS BY MOBILE
DIVISION OFFICERS IN PAST 48 HOUR

Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of seven (7) persons for outstanding criminal warrants over the past 48 hours.  

Additionally, 68 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations
