RBPF Nassau: Police investigates homicide - Shooting incident - Illegal firearm recovered

POLICE INVESTIGATES HOMICIDE

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating a stabbing incident which left an adult male dead, Sunday, 6th October, 2019.

According to reports, shortly after 9:00pm, a man was at East Street in the vicinity of Bahama Avenue, when he got into an altercation with two other men, who stabbed him about the body, before getting into a pink Nissan March and speeding away.  The victim was pronounced dead on scene.

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station. 

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT 

Police on the Island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident Sunday, 6th October, 2019, which left an adult male with non-life threatening injuries.
According to reports, shortly before 8:00am a man was standing outside a home on Market Street and Millers Close when he heard the sounds of gunshots and realized that he had been shot. He was transported to hospital, where he was treated and discharged. 

Investigations are ongoing.

ILLEGAL FIREARM RECOVERED

According to reports, shortly after 3:00pm, Thursday 3rd October, 2019, Central Detective Unit Officers acting on information, conducted a search of an abandon building on Peter Street and recovered a 9 millimeter pistol. 


No arrest was made in this incident. Investigations are ongoing.

89 FIXED PENALTY NOTICES ISSUED TO DRIVERS BY MOBILE
DIVISION OFFICERS IN PAST 73 HOUR   

Officers from the Mobile Divisions conducted road checks in various parts of the island. Their efforts, which were intended to educate, reduce crime, and to minimize the ability of criminals to commit criminal activity, resulted in the arrest of seventeen (17) persons for outstanding criminal warrants, attempted murder, damage and assault over the past hours.     

Additionally, 57 drivers were ticketed for various traffic violations
