RBPF Nassau: Police investigates shooting incident - Traffic collision leaves an adult female dead

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT 

Nassau, Bahamas - Police on New Providence are investigation a shooting incident Tuesday, 21st January, 2020 which has left an adult female with injuries.  

In the first incident, according to reports, shortly after 11:00pm, a woman had just arrive at her residence on Jumbey Drive, Golden Gates, when she was approached by an armed man who shot her before running away. She was transported to hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station. 

Investigations are ongoing.
POLICE INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC FATALITY 

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating a traffic collision Tuesday, 21st January, 2020 which left an adult female dead.

According to reports, shortly 8:00pm a male was driving a silver Honda fit south on Farrington Road off Boyd Road, when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a female who was walking. The injured woman was transported to hospital and later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is assisting police with this investigation. 

Officers from the RBPF Traffic Department will continue investigations into this incident.

CRIME PREVENTION TIP - CONFLICT RESOLUTION

  • Look for ways to settle arguments and disagreements without violence. Remember: if you resort to violence to settle disputes, a child may well follow your example. Be a good role model.
  • Use good manners to help ease tensions that can lead to violence. Teach kids that showing respect for themselves and for the needs of others can prevent crime.
