RBPF Nassau: Shooting incident, 1 man in custody, illegal firearm recovered - Suspects to be arraigned in Court

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT , 1 MAN IN CUSTODY, ILLEGAL FREARM RECOVERED.

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are investigating a shooting incident that has left one man with injuries on Saturday, 6th January, 2018.

Reports are that shortly after 6:00p m, three men , while on Malcolm Road, got into an argument with a male armed with a firearm, who shot one of them before calling the police. The gunman was taken into custody and a .38 revolver was recovered. The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in serious condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

SUSPECTS TO BE ARRAIGNED IN COURT

Police are pleased to report that three firearm suspects will appear in the Magistrate Court on Monday, 8th January, 2018, at 12:00noon to be formally charged.

They are:

1 adult male and an adult female, to be charged with Possession of unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition. The pair were found in possession of an AK 47 firearm and 31 rounds of ammunition , on Thursday, 5 th January, 2018 .

2 adult male to be charged with Armed Robbery , in connection with a matter which occurred on 3 rd January, 2018 , at West Bay Street.

1 adult male to be charged with assault wi th a deadly weapon , in connection with a matter which occurred on 7 th July, 2017.

Police wish to thank the public for their timely assistance and information that has led to the arrest of suspects in these and other matter s .
