One dead after three car collision in Nassau

Nassau, Bahamas - Police in New Providence are investigating a traffic accident which has left an adult male dead, Friday, 27th July, 2018

According to reports, shortly after 9:00am, a three car collision occurred on Western Road south of Mount Pleasant Village. An adult male, the driver of the white Mazda vehicle, received serious injuries. He was treated by medical personnel on scene; however, he succumbed to his injures. The female drivers of the other two vehicles, were transported to hospital and are listed in stable condition. 

The deceased has been officially identified as Achintya Garikaparthi, age 18 years of Blair Estate. Investigations are being continued by officers from the RBPF Traffic Department.

SAFTEY DRIVING TIPS – obey all traffic laws.

  • Don’t drink, text or utilize anything that will distract you while driving.
  • Obey the speed limits and traffic signal lights.
  • Be alert and ready to stop. Look out for people walking on the street especially where there are no sidewalks.
  • Be extra cautious around pedestrian crossings, slow down and watch out for children on the streets.
  • Do not overtake. Stay in your lane.
  • Remember to slow down and drive for both you and others.
