POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING – FIREARM RECOVERED 

Nassau, Bahamas - Police are investigating a shooting incident Saturday 12th October, 2019 which resulted in an adult male being shot and a firearm recovered. 

According to reports, shortly after 2:00am police officers were conducting an investigation on St. Albans Drive in the vicinity of a night club, when they heard gunshots being fired. As officers were walking toward the night club, they observed a male, walking towards them, armed with a firearm. The male was ordered to drop the weapon, to which he refused and pointed the firearm in the direction of the officers. The officers being in fear for their lives, discharged their service weapons in the direction of the man, wounding him. The injured man was transported to hospital and is listed in serious condition. No one else was injured during this incident. Officers recovered an illegal firearm which contained eight rounds of ammunition.

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATES STABBING INCIDENT

Police on the island of New Providence are investigating a stabbing incident which left one man with injuries, Friday, 11th October, 2019.

According to reports, shortly after 8:00pm, a male was at Potter’s Cay Dock, when he got into an altercation with two men who are known to him, resulting in him being stabbed about the body. He was transported to hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.

Investigations are ongoing.

POLICE INVESTIGATES SHOOTING INCIDENT 

Police on the Island of New Providence are investigating a shooting incident Friday 11th October, 2019, which left one male with non-life threatening injuries.

According to reports, shortly before 5:00pm a male was walking on Verbena Street, off Rosedale Street, when the occupants of a pink Nissan March opened fire in his direction, hitting him to his leg before speeding away.  The injured man was transported to hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Police are appealing to members of the public, who may have information that can assist with this investigation, to contact the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991/2, Crime stoppers at 328-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station.

POLICE INVESTIGATES ARMED ROBBERIES 

Police on the Island of New Providence are seeking assistance in identifying and locating the men responsible for recent armed robberies.

In the first incident, according to reports, shortly after 6:00am Friday, 11th October, 2019 a woman was walking on Bethel Avenue, Stapledon Gardens, when she was approached by two armed men, who robbed her of her handbag, before getting into a red rental vehicle and speeding away.

In a second incident, shortly after 9:00am, a woman was walking in the parking lot of an Auto Parts Store, Wulff Road near to Village Road, when she was approached by an armed man, who robbed her of her handbag, before getting into a Gray Nissan Cube and speeding away.

In a third incident, shortly after 11:00pm, a woman was standing in front of a home in the western District, when she was approached by an armed man, who robbed her of her handbag before making good his escape.

In a fourth incident, shortly after 1:00am, Saturday 12th October, 2019 a man was standing in the parking lot of a bar on Bernard Road, when he was approached by an armed man, who robbed him of his blue BMW jeep and sped away, followed by a pink Nissan March.

Investigations into these matters are ongoing.
