RBPF Nassau: Police make 27 arrests - Stabbing victim identified - Stolen vehicle recovered

12 ARRESTED DURING SOUTHWESTERN DIVISION OPERATION

Nassau, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioner’s Policing Priorities for 2015, Southwestern Division officers conducted an operation in the division on Thursday 21st May 2015, that targeted persons wanted for various criminal offences.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 12 persons for housebreaking, stealing, causing harm, stolen vehicle and armed robbery.

2 MALES ARRESTED BY POLICE OPERATION TEAM FOR STOLEN ITEMS

According to reports, on Thursday 21st May 2015, shortly after 8:30am, officers assigned to a special police morning operation team, were on patrol when they received a report of two suspicious men walking on Collins Avenue with a quantity of suspected stolen items in their possession. On arrival in the area, the officers spotted the men who fled on foot and disappeared into some nearby bushes. A short while later the officer arrested the two males on Windsor Lane with a television, two Laptops and a camera in their possession. Police suspect all of the items to be stolen property.

Investigations are ongoing.

13 SUSPECTS ARRESTED DURING FLYING SQUAD OPERATION

POLICE are reporting the arrest of 13 persons for various criminal offences to include, possession of dangerous drugs, house breaking and murder during a special operation conducted by the Flying Squad on Wednesday 20th May 2015.

The operation which is consistent with the Commissioner’s 2015 Policing Priorities, targeted persons involved in criminal activities, such as drugs and firearms, persons wanted for various criminal offences, prolific offenders, persons wanted for outstanding court warrants and motorists operating in Breach of the Traffic Laws.

STABBING VICTIM IDENTIFIED

The man stabbed to death at Potters Cay Dock on Tuesday 19th May 2015, has been identified as 34 – year old Von Hending of Balls Alley.

STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED SHORTLY AFTER ARMED ROBBERY

According to reports shortly before 12:00midnight on Thursday 21st May 2015, a man was standing in front of his home located at Buttonwood Lane, Imperial Park, when he was approached by three men armed with firearms, who robbed him of his white 2003 Honda Accord vehicle and sped off.

A short while later, police recovered the stolen vehicle abandoned by the suspects following a minor traffic accident in Nassau Village.
